These might be my most favorite pictures I have ever taken. I am a bit biased, as they are of one of my most favorite people, but it was also a lot about the experience. They are about life, and all the beauty that it holds, each and every day, that sometimes we can't see because we are too bogged down by "to do lists". I know I am guilty for sure. I don't have kids, and I don't really have friends with kids in Colorado, so my interactions with kiddos is at a minimal these days, mostly just an hour or two for sessions here and there. I had the pleasure of watching Jodi grow up until I moved away when she was almost two. Now she is almost five, and going on 20. I know that is pretty cliche to say, but it is true. It isn't just in attitude, it is in the profoundness that she sees and trys to understand the world. Personally, I think that is the key, to always be trying to understand and never arriving at the mentality of an almighty knowing, because in the end, there is so much more that we don't know than what we do, and it is all SO interconnected. Anyway, I digress. It was a very special time for me to get to spend so much time with her. She is a big girl now and is learning so much and has so much to give. OH to be a kid again.
The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes. - Marcel Proust
